• PATIENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Our Patient Financial Assistance Program is the oldest of COMPSPEC’s specific services and is the foundation of our operation. This program has been designed to secure patient eligibility for various third party payment sources. The process may begin with (1) screening self-pay accounts, (2) taking up where an eligibility application is pending determination, and (3) cases where eligibility has been denied. This program encompasses identification and pursuit of all potential payment sources including Medi-Cal, Medicare, Victims of Crime, Workers’ Compensation, California Children’s Services (CCS), Social Security Supplemental Income (SSI), HMO’s / PPO’s and other contracted payers, indemnity insurers, third party liability, and other third party coverage(s).

• THIRD PARTY LIABILITY PROGRAM
COMPSPEC’s Third Party Liability Program addresses self-pay and accounts reflected on the client’s systems as having been paid (zero balance), however where there has been some write-off factor, (i.e. typically policy limits, audit write-downs, or contractual allowances ). By careful screening of such accounts, as well as any subpoenas received by the
client, COMPSPEC’s Eligibility Specialists determine potential third party liability which often results in liquidation of full charges from third parties who may be ultimately held responsible as a result of legal actions. Once payment has been obtained, COMPSPEC
assists the client in making restitution, as indicated, to the original payer.

charity.
COMPSPEC interfaces with the client’s MIS, (either by download or direct connection), and produces a series of pre-collection letters and/or phone calls to patients in the name of and on behalf of the client.
